Drawing from the resources of both Chequers and One Housing, we have designed a training programme that gives our employees the skills and inspiration to provide a high quality service which meets the diverse needs of One Housing communities. Utilising industry recognised development programmes such as British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) training while embracing more holistic, care-based training, this has revolutionised the way our teams work.
As corporate members of BICSc (British Institute of Cleaning Science), and having invested in our own accredited Training Centres, we ensure all employees can develop through the highest standards of accredited training. Our in house BICSc assessors are fully trained to offer a range of modules including ‘Bodily Fluids and Sharps Objects’ and ‘Biohazard Decontamination Cleaning’.
Senior Plus Service
This bespoke training programme consists of 6 care and support modules catered to support the specific needs of the more vulnerable residents whose homes we service. Training covers bespoke aspects of safeguarding and health and safety depending on communities, including those with debilitating diseases, mental health issues and drug/alcohol dependencies.
As a result of this robust training course, our cleaning operatives possess a shared knowledge with nursing staff, facilitating the delivery of an effective cleaning service with a genuinely caring and informed approach.
All staff undertake Dementia Awareness training becoming registered ‘Dementia Friends’ and are skilled in supporting the changing needs of customers working within a safe and caring environment. Every member of our staff receives ongoing awareness training, ensuring we always meet or exceed the latest standards and guidance.
Electrical & Building Qualifications
As an NICEIC Approved Contractor all of our electrical and building maintenance employees hold at least Level 3 NVQs in their respective fields and take part in regular ‘Toolbox Talks’ refresher sessions.
Chequers’ accreditations for BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) and BAGMA (British Agricultural and Garden Machinery Association) ensure all employees are trained to meet the developing technology that the industry uses, underpinned by Health and Safety principles. Our in house BAGMA instructors are fully trained to administer induction training as well as a number of additional modules.
